Your trip down the Boothbay peninsula is not complete without a quick stop at the infamous Trevett Store. This general store, located right at the Barters Island bridge, is known for it’s snack bar style fare including lobster & crabmeat rolls, fried clams, and fish sandwiches. The Post Office is also located here. A fun memory is that back during her childhood Lori would hear a boat blow it’s horn for the hand cranked bridge to open and she would race down from her house to help Stan, the store owner and bridge tender, get the gates and crank it open! Knowing that there would be a treat for any kid who helped him awaiting at the store after, ice cream!!
